Metanet Hunter G4 (Generation 4) is an exciting project from WE ARE RODEONET. 

It is a neatly-wrapped package of 7 years of game design, and was my best project with the LOVE game framework. (http://love2d.org)

This game features intense, fast-paced side-scrolling, boss monsters to take down, and will have the first NIGHT KAWATA soundtrack.

What it is

Metanet Hunter G4 is called that thanks to it being a huge leap in quality from the past games. It is about a lone Cyberspace Samurai, the METANET HUNTER, and his adventures through Cyberspace to tackle the CHAOS ORBS.

You'll get a short-but-sweet action-packed adventure, featuring six intense stages, incredible boss fights, and endless fun with the new Time Attack Mode. Clear the game once, and see how well you play!

There are over 50 different gameplay palettes you unlock by playing Metanet Hunter G4, found throughout the levels, or tons of the game's secrets. We even have some alternate forms of gameplay with the Jetpack Upgrades that the player can unlock!

We also have the Bosses out once again, and this time, it is serious. Featuring multiple phases, and rockin' old-school-style music, you'll be OBLITERATING THE ORBS in no time.

Plot

YOU are the METANET HUNTER, and you'll be taking control of the Battle Machine "KINZOKU." You've been sent out once again to roam through Cyberspace, and take down the mysterious CHAOS ORBS before mass destruction ensues! 

Head through unique locations like the Obsidian Outback and Nimbus Network, and eventually discover the METANET TERMINAL. It's been creating those Chaos Orbs, and it's time to put an end to all this chaos!!

What you get

• 6 fine-tuned stages to blaze through in Campaign Mode. Each one's got a different type of flow, and it's up to you to survive. They've all got a boss fight at the end: Can you find and destroy the METANET TERMINAL?
• 50 different game palettes! You heard me. Can you find them all? Maybe you'll find a favorite, or several. Each one gives the game a fresh coat of paint.
  • You'll find a few in the stages, and you'll find a few from the Time Attack. Maybe a few of the game's passcodes might allow you to find the rest.
• 20 different sub-weapons! You've got many, many toys at your disposal this time around. From the powerful Electric Axe to the crazy Chaos Cube, you'll always have a cool tool in your arsenal.
• 3 different difficulty modes! That's right. Want things to cool off a little bit? Play on Casual Mode. Want to play it the way I designed it? Play it on Classic Mode. Want to heat things up even further? Try out Chaos Mode, I dare you.
  • You might even be brave enough to enter "HEROMODE" on the Password Selection Screen. Get ready to prove that you're the ultimate METANET HUNTER.
• Clear the game and unlock Time Attack Mode! In there, let's see if you're also the fastest hunter! Getting greater and greater times adds additional funky game color palettes, and you can even go up against my personal best times! The Jetpack truly changes the way you play.
• Cheats, cheats, cheats! It wouldn't be true blue old-school without some extra secrets and cheat codes! There's a mega-ton of codes you can discover, all in the name of havin' a blast.
