Everyone looks forward to their birthday. It's a special day completely dedicated to you! Presents, cake, everyone is nice to you... almost nothing goes wrong on this special day!

But not every birthday is perfect.

You are Sy. You finally recovered from the chaos that happened months ago, and you've settled on a foreign planet with your two friends. The planet is nice. People are nice. Crime is almost non-existent.

But just after midnight on June the 6th, your birthday, you hear quiet footsteps outside your room. Someone has broken in. You need to escape.

You climb out your window into the cold snowy forest and try to find somewhere to get help. But you are tired and disorientated and cold. And it... is watching...

Not Every Birthday Is Happy is a single player 2D horror side-scroller game, with multiple endings, following the story of Sy who is about to celebrate his birthday on an alien planet in space. It is part of the Comet series.

Controls:
- A and D or LEFT AND RIGHT ARROW KEYS to move
- W or UP ARROW KEY to jump
- SPACE to use your flashlight
- E to interact
- B does nothing. Don't even try.

Important:
- This game has a toggleable feature in the settings to use your microphone to detect sound in real life. If you want to add more fear, or are a YouTuber/Streamer, turn this on (note: adjust the sensitivity so the mic icon is red when you talk but green when you are silent).
NOTE: There is no warning for when you have to be silent. Use common sense.
- This game can be quite dark. It is recommended to play in a dark area so you can see better.
- This game relies a lot on sound cues. Headphones are recommended.

This game was made over the course of a year. If a major bug is found after release, I'll fix it.
